Hovedhuset er håndlaftet og var i starten bare to små rom. Etter som de trengte mer plass og hadde tømmer nok ble det bygget på med svalegang og en etage til. Når vi kom til Lonin var det som å komme tilbake i tid. De gamle husene lå forlatt midt i en vill blomstereng. Nå har vi satt på en ny laftekasse med kjøkken og flere rom. Alle de som har bodd på Lonin i over 200 år har bidratt til Hovedhuset som står på tunet i dag. Historiene sitter i veggene og bidrar til en ekstra dimensjon.
